Blondes may have more fun, but not when their hair turns green. Jumping into a chlorinated pool or too much sun exposure can cause blonde hair to turn a funky green. While those are the most obvious culprits, often times it may be your very own shower. When copper creeps through the pipes your hair will pay the price.
But what happens when it’s an emergency and you’re nowhere near your fabulous colorist? There are tons of creative beauty hacks out there, but the one that is most intriguing and seems to work best when your hair is in desperate need of a toner, is ketchup! Yes you heard right. Ketchup! The red from the tomatoes counteracts with the green tint. The acid in the ketchup helps remove the nasty minerals that caused the color reaction.
How to: Massage ketchup into your hair with your hands (yes it feels weird, and it smells weird too). Leave the ketchup on for about 20-30 minutes and then rinse thoroughly.
